2 years ago, I ordered a DSL line to enjoy using internet on my home. Pending on the waiting list for weeks then the mercy has came and received a call by STC to arrange the time to install and setup the service.
Eventually, the service is ready now so I started enjoying the internet for exactly three months with some minimal interruption but suddenly the situation has changed.
Two weeks of service interruption and frustration made me called the customers service free toll number to complain about this matter. As usual, the CS employee had advised that the service is up and running and STC is one of the greatest on the telecommunication regime on human kind history as their slogan indicates (Easier Life)!!. No wonder, we are considered as a third world country.
I gave up on that matter and surrendered to the interruptions. I even started reading about NLP to rehabilitate my psyche adopting the new circumstances and to tolerate a situation when you are downloading X file for a while then it gets corrupted because of the service interruption.
Few months later, I moved to a new place and called STC CS (after paying off all invoiced & non invoiced bill) to disconnect the landline along with the DSL service (STC separates the orders of DSL service & landline).
“Done, thanks for your business” STC operator said when I asked him to disconnect the line for ever! But the line was not disconnected because they require YOU to visit their office and take a number then stand on the line wait for your turn to disconnect the service. Otherwise, you will be invoiced as long as you are gaining the service even if you are not using it and this can be confirmed by their systems!
A nine months later, I found out by SMS on my mobile indicating that I am having an overdue bill of SAR 2800 (USD 746) for using a DSL internet line & landline service for a year.
Wait a second! I thought I have disconnected the service?!
Wrong! You did not visit the office and do that!
OK, I gave up because getting into a huge controversy is nothing but pay-then-urge-about-it! (their rules). Also, failure of paying this amount will be reported to SIMAH which the Saudi Credit Bureau which means no further loans, passport renewal, credit card etc…
Las August, we agreed for some installment to finance the total amount into several months, and to stop the services. Surprisingly, that was not the correct, last week, I have received another SMS message indicating that I need to pay extra SAR 600 (USD 160) for retaining the service.
Last suggestion by the customers service agent was to pay off the total amount and get over it! What a great suggestion!
I think this journey will never ends, and so many people are struggling by this autocracy! So make profits out of our pockets!
What a successful company!
Simple search on YouTube shows how people are really struggling!

Something needs to be done I am still having endless problems and I had to wait 2 hours in the que to cancel the line but it is 4 months later and they are still charging me. Is there no one we can speak to regarding these issues as I have tried everything.
