Never seen such images of rain disaster in my life… it’s something terrible, but I also know that people there have a special strength inside that spins them on and on! Let’s hope for the best!

more important than a recovery plan, i hope they have a proper drainage system to manage floods and direct them to the sea/storage
unlike jeddah which has drowned in rain and sewge water, i hope they avoid mistakes in jeddah when buikding KAUST

No worries – it’s just that there has been a lot of pictures taken out of context with respect to KAUST, and I feel original sources are important for that reason – context
Things are going alright now, though there are a few services still out of commission, like internet and telephone service, but that is limited to isolated parts of campus
Shaheen has survived without too much complication – it’s largely the structural integrity of the homes that was our concern
