Lately, I came across a personal blog for a Saudi blogger (Faisal) who named his blog as Stuff Saudi People Like. Honestly, I was diverted to this blog by a post that I have found at Khaled rambles blog.
However, I loved the idea at way of exposing information about a culture and country by organizing the ideas of what people do on their lives on a weekly basis by such a creative honest way.
It looks like that the website just has been created recently based on the domain search. However, the blogger talks about things that Saudi youth do regularly such as
- Playing Cards (Ballout)
- Smoking Sheesha (Hookah)
- Chilling at Cafes
- Car Drifting ( Tafheet)
- Shopping
- The List Goes On
Regardless whether if I agree with that list or not, but I would say that the majority of Saudi population is very young
and there so many common manners that youngsters would do these days especially on the urban cities such Riyadh, Jeddah, and Makkah etc…
It is obvious that these manners were the reflection output of so many technologies that been introduced to the Saudi society for the past years, especially the Internet, which gave more freedom of speech to Saudis. There is a demand for more entertainment centers and activities to allow these youngsters to practice their youth on such a civilian ways.
